I've loved disaster films ever since I fell in love with movies. It all started with "Twister" and "Daylight." I don't know why a lot of people didn't like this movie. Were they looking for some kind of character development or a solid storyline? If so, why? It's a disaster film. People die; it's plain and simple. And if they're not content by the body count at the end of the movie, then they shouldn't have decided to watch it in the first place. A lot of people are not sensible, I suppose. Anyway, this movie blew me away, not because of its story, but because of the issue it tackled and its first-rate special effects. Was the movie scientifically accurate? Maybe not. But when I walk into a movie that advertises death, I don't look for accuracy. I look for death and people's desperation to survive. I got just that and more. I say big thumbs-up on this one.
