Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

The sequel is better than the original but the original is pretty darn bad. The reason why I enjoyed this film a lot more is because of the pacing. Somehow, it felt like the movie went by really fast. There's none of that discovering-their-po wers thing that made its predecessor stagnant. Instead, I felt like the actors and the filmmakers had more fun this time around. Sure, the villains and the plot are still contrived but I think I'm beginning to get that this "Fantastic Four" franchise is supposed to be fluffy and campy. The only major complaint I have is Jessica Alba. I don't want to be mean but even though the girl can't act, she still keeps getting roles. Looks can only get you so far. I say she should take acting lessons, get a juicy role, and surprise the world. In the mean time, I hope they don't make another movie for about three or four more years. How about the screenwriters think of original ideas, aspire to the greatness of "Batman Begins," and then make them happen?
