The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

I'm going to destroy it. Possibly with dynamite.

This was a funny movie that had some very obscure and off-beat humor. I wasn't sure what to expect the first time I saw this movie, and when i first saw the idea for it I thought it would be just too strange because the idea of underwater deep sea exploration didn't hold as much interest, especially since I thought it was going to be too much like a Jacques Cousteau style documentary with forced humor. Then when I saw that it was going to be a similar humor style to the Royal Tennenbaums I realized that this would be more of an unexpected cult hit than anything else. Overall it was a good movie, a lot of funny parts, aside from everyones favorite characters (Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson) I really thought that Willem Defoe was brilliant, the character was so different from anything else I have seen him in. If you are looking for slapstick humor then this is the wrong movie, but if you want more of a dry intellectual humor then this will be an interesting watch.
