The Raimi brothers kick ass!

Suspense in horror is a long-forgotten technique that is used brilliantly here. Remember when she is walking to her car, and she hears the cough of the old woman, and then she sees the car parked directly across from her own, and when she goes to start it the old woman's handkerchief floats out, and the camera pans a full 180 tracking the movement of the handkerchief as it floats around the car, and it's not until it is out of sight that we realize the camera has stopped on the old woman in the backseat? Remember that?!?! That was SO awesome!

The whole movie is like that. It is not just atmospheric gore with the occasional scare that will make you jump. This is real edge-of-your-seat suspense with an original story and comedy, great scott, comedy! There hasn't been a good horror-comedy since Idle Hands and the only real reason I watched that one over and over was because of Jessica Alba. This movie is the best. Watch it on Halloween with a bunch of friends. Just watch it.
