Even if you consider this a homage as opposed to a straight-up remake, this just feels underwhelming and, honestly, too clinical. There is not emotional spark - not between husband and wife (Raúl Castillo and Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and not from nanny from hell (Maika Monroe). It's just too lifeless to be fun or thrilling.
