Now, the is my very first movie review so please bear with me. I am only 19 and have much to learn and much to watch, but I do assure you that for someone my age I am one of the biggest fan of films that you will meet.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button tells a story of a man born into the age of a man well into his eighties, but who still has the size of a newborn. As Benjamin grows up, the movie tells the story of the people he meets along the way that make an impression on him and shapes him into the person he is, but also tells the great obstacles he has to overcome with his life going in reverse, especially the great challenge in dealing with his love, Daisy.

Now, many people have compared this movie to Forrest Gump as I can see why. But I also believe there are other movies out there that almost do the same. All it is is someone narrating their life story, but Forrest Gump only narrated it from when he was a young boy, to the present where he is told to be a millionaire with Bubba Gump Shrimp. The Curious Case Of Benjamin tells his life from the day he was born, until the day he dies. And was Forrest Gump aging in reverse? No.

I think if the people who disliked this movie really stopped to think about the meaning behind this story they could form a different opinion other than stating that it was, "too long, and too boring." For instance, imagine that you were born old, and aged in reverse. Now imagine you met someone that you fell in love with and how with your situation, what a great toll that would take on you. Just imagine living your everyday life with this, as Benjamin did. And then soon by the end of your life, by the time you are in your early teens (on the outside) you form dementia and forget everything that you had experienced for the past seventy years, and how much that would hurt everyone that you knew around you. To me, it tells a most compelling story and it really makes you appreciate all the realationships around you and makes you think more in depth about the lives of people around you, rather than just thinking of your own.

Even besides all that, no one can deny the great directing that David Fincher accomplished. The way of how he took a short story and turned into this compelling story is amazing. Not to mention the great imake-up and visual effects with making Brad Pitt seamlessly old. I have never seen anything like it.

Brad Pitt was also amazing. I really thought this was his best performance to date. I almost hate to admit it, but he is one of my favorite actors. His roles Se7en, Fight Club, and even The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button grace my Top Movie List and I think in this role he tops himself. Well done, Mr. Pitt.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button is something of that I do not think anyone has ever seen before. Telling a life that is unsual from anything else, and it is something that may seem impossible but that is the point of great films to ask that very important question, "What if?" This film does just that and then tells the story of a man. This film was great and profounding and I hope people see the true meaning behind it and realize what a masterpiece it is.
