Another great Speilberg movie

One of my favourite movies as a child, and a movie I continue to enjoy. Though not particularly scary, it is f***ing horrifying seeing what that flippin' shark can DO.

The movie is about the sheriff of Amitty Island, Sheriff Brody (Roy Scheider), who is afriad of going in the water. F***, anyone would be after seeing this movie. One night a drunk girl goes skinny dipping ;) and is eaten by a Great White Shark. One of the most famous opening scenes of all time. The next day, Brody is investigating her death, and while at the beach, the shark strikes again, this time killing a small boy named Alex Baily. At least that's what I think his name is.... Anyway, Brody calls in Marine Biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) to help him track the shark down and kill it. The Mayor also organizes a Island-wide shark hunt, where soeone catches a shark beleived to be THE shark. Hooper examines the Shark and says that it is NOT the shark that killed the Baily(?) kid, seeing as the bite radius of this shark is much smaller than that of a Great White. He explains that it is probabely a tiger shark, and while it IS a man eater, it is not the one that killed the girl and the Baily(?) kid. He and Brody both try to get the mayor to close the beaches, but the mayor refeuses, seeing as summer is the most profitable time of year for the island (cheap bastard). Meanwhile, the shark goes on another warpath, killing a guy in the lake and traumatizing (but not harming) Brody's son. Brody and Hooper recrute seaman Captain Quint (Robert Shaw) to help them find and kill the shark. They set out to sea to kill it, and after a couple days, the shark attacks their boat, killing Quint. Brody kills it with a rifl, shooting at a gas tank lodged in it's mouth. The movie ends with Brody and Hooper swimming back to shore.

The acting is an all star cast. Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider, and Robert Shaw are all excellent in this film

Direction is top notch. But hey, would you expect anything else from Steven Speilberg?
