At first, there's a comforting familiarity to the stories. They aren't profound, but they are inviting. However, "Love Actually" runs out of gas without ever getting out of the shallows of its interwoven narrative. At this length, it needs to be something a little more than a Robert Altman inspired Hallmark movie.
