A fantasy-like mystery with touches of dark comedy and surrealism, "Mulholland Drive" comes down hard on archetype Hollywood figures (aspiring dreamers and the industry heads who prey on and destroy them). Unfortunately, this ambitious experiment gets upended by a head-scratching conclusion and typical David Lynch indulgences.
