Let me start by saying that I love most everything that Denzel Washington has been in. His character here, Robert McCall, is supposed to be deadly and highly skilled, but trying to distance himself from that part of his past. I thought Denzel was much more effective at this in 'Man On Fire'. Much of the rest of this is very cliche and predictable, despite the over-the-top violence and mayhem. The film, based on the 80's TV series of the same name that stared Ed Woodward, deftly sets itself up as a sequel generator in the final frames. Look out, Liam Neeson, you've got some new competition. It was nice to see some hometown scenery (Boston), but unless you're a Denzel fan, you might want to wait to catch this as a rental...
