Cartoonishly over-the-top and edited like an MTV video, but it is delightfully trashy and mean-spirited that it winds up being sort of fun. But then it swings around to try and be sentimental by giving the good thief a kid sidekick. Kurt Russell is pretty good in this and Kevin Costner is reveling in the opportunity to play a loathsome villain. The camera work is too frenetic and choppy for its own good though.
