What is being advertised as the last installment in the 'Venom' movie series is as dumb as it looks from the previews. And yet I found myself liking it for the most part. It is at its best when it acts insane like Venom controlling a horse or multiple symbiotes fighting a giant alien monster inside Area 51. But it stumbles when it tries to be heartfelt and moving. But credit when it's due. Tom Hardy is fantastic in the lead part. Whoever thought of making Venom into a wacky buddy comedy most likely got a raise. Those expecting a darker or scarier Venom will be very disappointed. But I can't say I was in that second category.
