First off, you have to read the graphic novel before seeing this, if not, you moviegoing experience will be sub-par. As for the film itself, it's quite visually stunning and the fight scenes are great, but there's no character development, everybody seems flat. That could be because the acting is average at best. But, we were spoiled last year to have two brilliant superhero films with great acting in Iron Man and The Dark Knight. The ending is also different, than what was in the book but I won't spoil that for you.

And as for Freddie's comments below, the personal drama was what made the original source novel so great in the first place. You felt for these heroes because they were human. Yes, I know, so is Batman, but you never really feel anything for him. Great, he's handsome and filthy rich, what a shame. The heroes in this movie are real people with real problems. And even though they left out the back story of Rorshach's mask, you should know that it was supposed to be just like the Rorshach ink blot test.

This film is a must see on the big screen, and I can't wait for the directors cut on DVD.
