Rutger Hauer debuts in awesome terrorist film

Rolling through Stallone's Imdb list of credentials I came across this lil gem that he put out in '81 so I immediately found my copy and threw it in...time for a re watch Stallone plays Nypd det. Sgt Deke Dasilva who partners up with Detective sergeant Matthew Fox (Billy Dee Williams for those who don't know this actor he played Lando Calrissian in Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi) they are both happy in their current detail of the street crime unit up until Interpol and Washington want both officers, due to their service records in Vietnam, to head the new A.T.A.C ( Anti Terrorist Action Command) where they will both be working with Counter Terrorism's specialist Peter Hartman (Nigel Davenport) to track down terrorist Heymar Reinhardt , alias Wulfgar (Played brilliantly by then newbie actor Rutger Hauer in his first role ).

Countless days spent in class learning counter terrorism techniques taught by Hartman only frustrates Dasilva mentioning that they are wasting time in class when they both should be on the street nailing the s.o.b.. Hartman tells them that they need to know all this info as second nature before hitting the streets.

The rest of the film turns into a cat and mouse off and on chases as they close in on the evil Wulfgar and his sidekick and also known worldwide terrorist Shakka Holland (Persis Khambatta Star Trek The Motion Picture)

Great cop vs terrorist flick from the 80's tha will always remain as one of my alltime faves of Stallone's early career days. Worth a watch if you get a copy.
