You've Got Mail

A love letter to New York!
MovieAddict - wrote on 09/08/12

Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) who owns a children's book shop is being put out of business by a big bookstore tycoon Joe Fox - and unknowingly developing a deep relationship with him by email under the aliases of 'Shopgirl' and 'NY152'.

Both are in unhappy relationships which are going nowhere but they unwittingly meet each other online and offer each other support, friendship and the possibility of something more. Yet when Joe and Kathleen meet in real life, they can't help but spit poison at each other.
Tom Hanks is the perfect mix of being a serious business man on one hand, and a caring, compassionate friend on the other. He's the "villain" in this movie, but a more likable villain I've never encountered, or cheered for! Joe learns the truth first and plays with Kathleen for awhile, causing her to wish it was him she was falling in love with, unaware of the truth.

This is a feel-good sweet witty film recommended for those who enjoy romantic comedies. Be prepared for those beautiful New York views which brought smiles of recognition to my face!
