"You know what they do to handsome guy like me in prison. It Rhymes with GRAPE. It Rhymes with grape"

A couple of inept rookie cops -- chubby dork Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and a dimwitted muscular jock Jenko (Channing Tatum) are given an assignment by their straight talking Captain Dickson (Ice Cube embracing his role of the stereotypical angry black guy), to go undercover as teenagers (since they are both young-looking) to investigate the explosion of designer drugs called HFS in their high school. Their mission is to arrest the supplier and try their best to stop the spread of the drugs. Enrolled as brothers the pair soon discovers that high school has changed a lot in seven years. When Schmidt and Jenko had originally attended high school, Schmidt was the nerd and Jenko the cool prom king and jock. Now, returning undercover, they have a role reversal when Schmidt finds himself popular with the cool kids while Jenko struggles to be hip and fit in.

Jonah Hill is an amazing and droll actor, alongside the hunky Channing Tatum who is surprisingly funny for someone so often cast as a heart throb and more recognized for his romantic lead in movies (Step Up, Dear John and The Vow). Nevertheless there are some fairly comical moments with highlights including a hilarious sequence when the duo had to convince their dealer that they are indeed druggies and a highway chase in which nothing goes as expected. I had a smile on my face pretty much from the Slim Shady beginning until the very ending. Oh, and Johnny Depp's cameo is awesome!

21 Jump Street Review comment

Yup Depp's cameo with "Doug" were cool. Wish they were able to include the rest. It was funny though. Cool review ;-)
