Little Andy Barclay is slowly trying to put the pieces of his shattered life back together after his mother was committed to a mental institution for backing her son's story up in court. After being bounced around in foster homes, he ready for another shot at a normal life. Finally he adopted in a suburban area so normal it sets the perfect mood for a horror movie.

Meanwhile in an attempt to save their reputation, the manufacturers of Chucky reconstruct the killer doll, to prove to the public that nothing was wrong with it in the first place. In doing so, they also bring the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray back to life. Chucky finds himself resurrected and has no time to lose if he wants to get out of the body of the doll. Chucky has no choice to track down Andy and possess his body before he becomes trapped in the doll forever.

Andy soon finds out that Chucky is back, of course he tell in his foster parents that the doll is alive, yet again no one believes him even when Chucky tries to kill his foster sister Kyle played by Christine Elise. There's a little more bloodshed, a few more victims and more screen time for a more insane and evil Chucky when they eventually have an ultimate showdown at the Play Pals Toy Company. As far as slasher sequels go, they don't get much better than this.
