I am a huge fan of X-Men series, and I must say that X-Men: First Class is my favorite of them all. It completely held my interest throughout, mostly thanks to Michael Fassbender (Erik aka Magneto)and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) who were perfectly cast as the friends who would one day lead separate factions of mutants. The past of Professor X and Magneto was so interesting especially Magneto who steals every scene he is in. The tragic past of Eric makes me understand why he so hates normal humans and how the figure Magneto was created. Meanwhile McAvoy brings a charming playfulness to Professor X that you never saw coming while still having that determination to do right and good no matter the cost. The two are unstoppable together, and yet, they are fated to oppose each other. Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) makes a masterful villain as well. No expense was made when it comes to the special effects either; Azazel is a perfect example. Then we have Mystique/Raven and the seductress role is left for January Jones (Emma Frost). She was a fun character played very well.
Best scene ever for me was when Erik finally raised the submarine out of the water. Most touching scene would be a tossup between Magneto allowing Professor X to read his mind and catch those beautiful childhood memories of his mother and one towards the end that had me tearing up and searching for my Kleenex.
Special effects are top notch, dialogue is intelligent, sequences are engaging, action is awesome, characters are very believable, and the soundtrack is brilliant. I loved it all. Also be sure to look out for the cool cameo of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) when he tells Xavier and Magneto to go f^ck themselves before they get a chance to even tell him who they were hahaha.
