A heavyweight cast struggle in a slapdash effort to bring Joseph Heller's classic novel to the big screen. It has some fantastic moments, but unfortunately it does not gel as a whole and is consistently exasperating as far too much of the nonsensical goings on are left completely unexplained. Arkin is eminently watchable as ever, though.
