oh and here are some that I think could fit on your list: The Shining, Rules of Attraction, Ninja Scroll and Event Horizon. But in general I think you list is pretty sweet.

Why do you find Gattaca so "dark". Sure it isn't the most cheerful movie, but I actually view this movie as more of a love story mixed with a triumphant underdog story.

well i live in L.A. and see a lot of movies. This month I am concentrating on Ernst Lubitsch. I usually see movies by one director until I can knock them all out. I'm also working on Cassavetes a little bit.
