Heartfelt- Worth a Watch
I watched These Days and honestly, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It’s about a teen named Jay who’s trying to stay out of trouble after spending time in rehab for alcohol poisoning. Right away, his mom puts him in this summer program to keep him in line. She’s super strict but also clearly cares a lot—she’s a single mom and pregnant, so she’s got a lot going on. The movie takes place in a Salvadoran neighborhood in Brentwood, NY, which felt really authentic. Jay wants to escape the tough life around him, but for now, he has to deal with what he’s got.
