I have yet to see the Danish original version - but given the dynamic between James McAvoy, Scoot McNairy, Mackenzie Davis and Aisling Franciosi - director James Watkins must have had something good to work with. The film does a great job of building up tension - little things dropped here and there - as well as developing the relationships between both the adults and their children. While the end is a bit bombastic compared to the somewhat more mild buildup, the film is more than worthy of a watch.
