Plot: Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton, is a mermaid who dreams of life outside the sea - especially after an encounter with a dashing prince. The king forbids this but Ariel seeks out the sea witch, Ursula, in order to make a bargain - trading her voice for legs. Although I still think Disney takes the easy way out with their live-action remakes, I really enjoyed this one because Halle Bailey makes a pitch-perfect Ariel, Melissa McCarthy is surprisingly effective as Ursula and even the live-action animals weren't as distracting as I expected. The film is full of vibrant visuals - especially the musical numbers "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl". Though I felt Jonah Hauer-King Prince Eric was a bit weak and Javier Bardem was under-utilized as King Triton, overall this is one remake worth watching.

Okay so I'm having a hard time with my film crave rating but let me tell you this movie had absolutely everything you could possibly be looking for in a good Disney film the beauty the plot the action so so good I loved it
