I regret everything, as does Timmy, Selena, Elle, and every other young actor in this. Whatever nostalgia I have for the golden age of Allen's work is not nearly enough to compensate for the sheer vacuity of this script. It's just another Tumblr aesthetic post written by a teenager who thinks everyone will be impressed by a reference pool of exclusively pre-70s culture, except the teenager is an old Jewish pervert.

It makes sense that Woody Allen is still committed to making droll comedy-dramas like this, something he did quite well for decades. But his chic and archaic style has lost its glow, and has become more phony and unconvincing as the years go by.
