Unusual for the time it was made. Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood are essentially sending themselves up in a post-modern tongue in cheek gangster comedy that fails mainly because it doesn't go quite far enough; it doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind whether it's an action film or a comedy. Clint and Burt are very watchable nonetheless.
