The real secret of Sex and the City 2? Why it was decided it deserved a sequel. If the budget for wardrobe is any indication, they spent more on clothes than some indie movies make in theaters. But, you know what they say, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.
It's clear this is being marketed to a largely female audience, which, despite ending half-a-decade ago, seems to still be interested in the exploits of well-dressed, middle-age women - and now they can see them on camels! That's fine, they can have them, but what really bothers me is how many boyfriends / husbands / other unwilling male are going to be dragged to this.
I'm willing to take a poll: is there a willing (straight) male who actually wants to see this film? Anyone - please speak up and tell me why. I've never been a fan of so-called chick flicks, but even I can be swayed. Yet there is nothing I've seen that's convinced me that either the first film or this sequel would in any way, shape or form entertain me. Maybe it's the high society, the personalities, the reliance on fashion - It's not any one thing, it's pretty much everything that bothers me.
So, are men going to be offered the carrot or the stick? Why are YOU being dragged to this monstrosity? Better yet, are YOU planning on dragging someone? Make it a girls night out for once, let the men retain some dignity.

I suppose that there are plenty of women too who get dragged unwilling by friends or loved ones too. It might be even harder to feign interest in that situation.

I don't understand this phenomenon of people dragging their unwilling spouses or significant others to films they know they won't like. Just go on your own, and go together when something you'll both enjoy is playing. Why does someone have to suffer? Oh, and I'm a woman who wouldn't be caught dead seeing this.
