New Movies to Crave: Warriors, Swans and Lovers

Wide releases are hard to come by, so I don't see a shakeup in the box office for this weekend. Expect a repeat, but if you want to see something new, here are the best bets.

1) Black Swan - I know this is only opening on a limited release, but I've always been a fan of Darren Aronofsky - I mean, who else could make ballet interesting? Throw in some drama, some danger and Natalie Portman with another girl? I'm there.

2) I Love You Phillip Morris - While I can't say that I'm enamored with the premise, I'm just glad this Jim Carrey comedy is finally getting a proper releases. Still, it's been out overseas for ages and the general consensus has been positive. While I have a hard time believing audiences will warm to this one, it may be one of Carrey's better roles.

3) The Warrior's Way - To me this looks like a pretty generic CGI action film with a romance shoehorned in to appeal to whatever females happened to be dragged along. I'll be surprised if it breaks the top 5.

4) Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale - It's foreign, yes, but read the synopsis! It could either be really fun or mind-numbingly bad, but whichever side you choose, it's one of the weirder ideas for a movie I've seen all year... and I have a feeling that I'll be renting it one day just to pique my curiosity.

It's a slow week for releases but stay tuned to next week when some bigger guns are going to be brought out.
