New DVD and Blu-Ray Releases to Crave This Week: An Eclipes, One Knight and Day

If you're one of the people who get all riled up over Team Edward vs. Team Jacob, then rejoice, for your next fix is here!

1) Whatever team you root for, chances are that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will soon join your collection. Granted, I don't understand what all the fuss is about, but then again I'm a die-hard Star Wars and Harry Potter fan so I know all about obsessing over a series. More power to you people - just don't try to convince me otherwise.

2) If shiny vampires aren't your cup of tea, perhaps a little action/adventure would suit your needs. Luckily Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are here with Knight and Day. While the preview didn't exactly leave me aching to watch this one, I believe it would be a solid rental. I mean if nothing else, it looks like both the leads are having a good time with it.

3) If you want action skewed towards a younger audience, then Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice will make your day. While it had a tough time of it at the box office, this is another movie that looks like a lot of fun. Plus Nicolas Cage! You can't go wrong with him (well, except the Wicker Man remake - stay far, far away from that one).

4) If you want to settle down with a nice, safe romantic comedy, then check out Going the Distance. It look entirely too cute, even for romantic comedies, but maybe that's exactly what you're looking for.

5) Finally, if you have a strong constitution, you can try and sit through Vampires Suck. Even I don't hate the shiny vampire genre enough to give this parody a shot - but then I think these films represent the lowest form of entertainment... yet the continue to make money, and they continue to make more of them.

On the Blu-Ray front, just in time to celebrate the third Fockers movie in the theater is the the release of Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. If you can handle that much Ben Stiller in one sitting, may as well upgrade your collection now... or wait for the inevitable Fockers Trilogy sometime next year.
