Better than the 1985 movie. Then again, that movie was so bad that Arnold Schwarzenegger himself could not salvage it. However, this latest version of the bikini-clad barbarian does suffer from cheap production values, stilted dialogue, and confusing editing. There are flashback scenes that come out of nowhere and some dodgy CGI in the action scenes. Mathilda Lutz is solid in the lead role though. She is immediately likable and convincing for the fights and swordplay. Robert Sheehan is chewing the scenery as the foppish villain. The rest of the acting is not so good though.
