Whatever charm or warmth the original picture book had is nowhere to be found. "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" is yet another routine kids movie as bland and unremarkable as its titular computer-generated reptile.

Seeing Scoot McNairy wrestling with a crocodile and Constance Wu eye fucking the Crocodile was not something I had on my bingo card for 2022, but hey, surprise? Whenever Lyle catches after people, it was terrifying.
