Having been a fan of Garth Ennis graphic novel series, Crossed, I knew where Rob Jabbaz was going with The Sadness - but even I, a gore-horror film veteran, was surprised by how far the film went. This is not a film for those who are squeamish or easily offended as the entire premise is a virus that essentially let's your Id run rampant - that is violence and sex - and Jabbaz isn't afraid to show the results. Let's just say eye-gouging, bodily fluids and a blood-soaked orgy are just the tip of the iceberg. And that ending was just brutal. I don't know if I can say I ENJOYED watching the film - but I was certainly enthralled.

I've seen gory movies before, but this is so, so, so, SO, gory and brutal. The infected maniacs in this movie are freaking scary. They are not brain-dead zombies, but fully aware and often crafty creatures that you can talk to.
