Slick but shallow rehash of movies like The Truman Show, The Stepford Wives, and Surrogates. Now sci-fi movies that play with reality vs virtual simulation can be fun or thoughtful. This was just kind of dull. But I will say that Florence Pugh is good as the one housewife who figures out things are not what they seem. On the other hand, Harry Styles is awful in this. He cannot do an American accent well at all.

Florence Pugh is really the only reason to watch this half-baked thriller, though I did appreciate the retro look and musical selections. Chris Pine is fine as the alpha male but Harry Styles is a bit lacking and more time should have been given to the rest of the female cast to flesh things out. You know something is "off" in this picturesque world and the reveal is unsurprising. Considering all the drama surrounding this behind the scenes, I was expecting more fireworks. Alas.
