The Wretched takes a classic horror icon (in this case, a witch) and manages to create something new and interesting with it - a kind of shape-shifting creature with the added ability to erase people from the minds of everyone. Thus parents forget ever having children and the like. While the characters are a bit thin, I'm all for trying something different and the few visceral moments are enough to at least recommend this to horror fans.

"The Wretched" contains enough fresh blood, assurance, and nostalgia, that it makes up for its shortage of terrifying moments and weak main character.
