Truly astounding. Denis Villeneuve brings one of the most highly regarded science fiction novels ever to the screen with most of its complex plot and dense themes still intact. Despite telling only half the story of the rise of Paul Muad'dib, "Dune" is an exciting and almost completely self-contained space opera not seen since the first "Star Wars," and an epic cinematic achievement that hasn't been accomplished as successfully since the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
