Mr. Fred Rogers spent his long television career teaching children to process their emotions and understand their feelings. "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" is a warm and fuzzy, semi-fictionalized biopic about an adult writer learning to do the same.

Impeccably acted biographical drama about a cynical reporter who befriended the beloved children’s entertainer and educator Fred Rogers. Tom Hanks gives a warm hearted performance as Mr. Rogers. The biggest surprise is how intelligent the screenplay is. Not shying away from the difficulties of harboring anger or sadness from one’s childhood at all. It’s sincere and earnest enough to not talk down to its audience.
