Matthew McConaughey plays perhaps the most ott caricature of his easy going surfer-bro persona imaginable in this breezy slight and sometimes funny comedy-drama.

Neither above or below what I've come to expect from Harmony Korine, but the episodic "Beach Bum" feels too long even for 90 minutes.
