Basically imagine 'TITANIC' and 'GLADIATOR' but then crossed over with 'DANTE'S PEAK'. That is the movie. It's not quite as bad as I feared. But most of it is boring until the volcano erupts and the destruction begins. That was alright. There is one gladiatorial fight scene in the second half that was surprisingly decent. Although this could had benefited from an R rating for the fight scenes and CGI carnage. Kiefer Sutherland is miscast as an evil Roman senator but his accent is pretty damn funny.

What do you get when you combine Titanic's callous exploitation of a major historical tragedy with the acting talents of vegetable Kit Harrington? Answer; this insipid piece of garbage. At least Titanic managed to make the sinking of the titular ship exciting and spectacular. This film, on the other hand, is given a great big sodding volcanic eruption and it manages to make me yawn!

Okay the director of this movie ripped off titanic and gladiator. Just before the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, a slave bound for Naples works to get back home to save both the woman he loves and his friend who is a gladiator trapped in the coliseum. This movie is bad and I mean really bad, I don't get why critics are saying that this film is not as bad as people but this movie was terrible and dull.
