A film that touches on political indifference and the total inadequacy of the UN focuses more on the human turmoil suffered in such an atrocity. Difficult to watch at times but utterly compelling, this is a movie, which holds no punches eliciting pure anger and outrage. Intense and gripping with a performance from John Hurt straight out of the top drawer, Shooting Dogs is an important and worthwhile film that is uncompromising, honest and deeply moving.
