Accepted, a Mr. E Movie Review

(Run time: 90 min. - Directed by: Steve Pink - Starring: Justin Long, Jonah Hill, Adam Herschman, Columbus Short, Maria Thayer, Lewis Black)

I want to recommend to anyone who hasn't seen the comedy Accepted to check it out. This movie caught my attention a couple of years ago while surfing through the local rental store. After taking it home, popping it into my DVD player, and laughing my butt off I proceeded to purchase the movie the next day! Seriously.

The story is about a high school graduate named Bartleby Gaines, played by Justin Long, that fails to get into college and whose parents simply just don't understand why? So, instead of dissappointing them any further he invents his own college with the help of his friends. He then proceeds to …

Accepted is one of those bizarre movies that somehow seemed to slip under my radar when it hit theaters, and it wasn't until much later that I watched it on DVD and came to appreciate it. That being said, what was I thinking when I missed it in theaters?!?! In terms of overall comedy, there have certainly been movies that made me laugh more, and also those that made me laugh much less. This one, however, finds the right balance between comedic wit and slap-stick humor. In the end, the message comes through loud and clear with one of the most inspired movie speechs I've seen lately, delivered wonderfully by Justin Long. Accepted tells you that it's okay to avoid conforming, so long as you do so to pursue what you love, and that sounds like a good plan to me!

Rejection is a funny thing. Who would have thought that being rejected to college was best thing that's ever happen to Bartleby Gaines. And what is the master plan if you're not accepted by any college, well duh create a college of your own. First step is to think of a catchy name, oh how about South Harmon Institute of Technology that's a good name. Anyone can call it S.H.I.T for short, what a splash of genius to think of such a brilliant name. Although there are a few things that I wished could have been funnier, but all in all I've had so much fun watching Justin Long hurt himself with his antics. Other characters made also their mark and did all they could to entertain. I was somewhat reminded about the students from the movie High School High which I almost died from laughing. Its …
