Monty Brogan (Norton) was arrested for drug dealing. He decides to meet with Frank (Pepper) and Jacob (Hoffman) together with his girlfriend Naturelle (Dawson). One evening, Mary D'Annunzio (Paquin), Jacob's student, tags along in a popular bar. Monty discovers the real person who ratted him out, but displays his morality as a person. Edward Norton delivers as expected (and one of his best at that) while the supporting cast were solid. Screenplay was excellently produced with lines from Monty - "You had it all, and you threw it away..." James - "Give them a good life Monty. Give them what they need." and Frank - "More jobs means fewer people looking for work. Means it's harder to find good people to fill those jobs. Means you gotta raise wages to get them. Means inflation goes up. …
