A young nun is sent to be a governess for a strict naval officer's six rambunctious children. After several attempts to run her out, the children learn to appreciate the lessons she teaches them about having fun and enjoying life. When their father returns with a wealthy socialite and several attempts on the part of the Nazi party, the family must pull together to be safe and keep the sound of music pure.
