The story revolves around Dallas (Claire Trevor), Doc Boone (Thomas Mitchell), Lucy Mallory (Louise Platt), stage driver Buck (Andy Devine), Marshal Curly Wilcox (George Bancroft) and Ringo Kid (John Wayne). The Apache scene was well choreographed and action packed. Splendid soundtrack, cinematography and locations. The acting and humor was solid though the plot could have been improved to make it more entertaining. Effective screenplay with valuable lines from Dallas: "Well, you gotta live no matter what happens." Henry, the Ringo Kid: "Well, there are some things a man just can't run away from." and Dr. Josiah Boone: "We're the victims of a foul disease called social prejudice, my child." A pioneer for its premise in action/comedy for a western, Stagecoach is a well-crafted film that can be enjoyed by Ford fanatics and those who love the genre
