Norman Maine performs drunk but Esther saves him from embarrassment. He returns the favor by convincing studio executive Oliver Niles that she has talent. Esther is now Vicki Lester and marries Norman. Her drunken husband is let go while her career rises. The songs ran a bit too long while the character of Danny was a bit exaggerated when he was talking to Esther after Norman passes away. Acting was good and the conclusion was heartwarming. Garland shines in this role. Stunning set pieces and costumes were used. A touching drama musical, A Star is Born is an appealing look at how important it is to value what we have.
