A classic American scenario: disgraced, big city cop gets posted to a small town. The local bar’s full of hostile rednecks and there’s a married gal looking for a way out. Meantime, an electric guitar twangs away in the background, bringing to mind some godforsaken Midwest outpost. Thing is, it’s Denmark, though play it with the sound and sub-titles off and you’d be pushed to tell the difference. It’s like a Jonathan Demme film in Danish, and it’s pretty good.
