Brewster's Millions (1985)

Pryor conviction

This is enjoyable in a lame kind of way but should have been so much better. Richard Pryor is seldom less than funny but he's emasculated here; a million miles away from his streetwise, stand-up routine. The abrupt ending gives rise to the thought that Walter Hill wanted to get this nonsense out of the way as quickly as possible so he could return to the more manly, hard-boiled stuff which is his forté.
