The Third Man

overrated

The Third man is another heavily overrated movie that involves Orson Welles. One of the biggest problems with the film is the opening of the film is boring and very repetitive. This is because at the start of the film it is all about the death of Harry Lime, and finding out if he is actually dead or not. This could work but you know he is not dead since he is played by Orson Welles therefore the whole beginning of the film is a waste of time. The romance in the film does not work because it is one of those examples of him loving her way too quickly and for no real apparent reason. As for the acting everyone is fine except Joseph Cotton who is so bland it is not funny. Finally one last big problem is the conclusion. What the main character does is downright perposturous.*Spoilers* The fact that a man who has never killed anyone before would shoot his seemingly best friend is not believable in any way whatsoever.

The film is not all bad though since the cinematography is great and the music works well but those two aspects do not make up for the plot.
