The More the Merrier

Charles Coburn steals the film

A funny wartime comedy that flows along almost perfectly smoothly and is fun to watch the whole film go through its motions. The only flaw with the film really is when Charles Coburn is not on screen because he is the most entertaining thing about the movie. Everyone else does well to but the story deteriorates slightly toward the end but it wraps up well enough and is enjoyable throughout. Much faster paced than any other George Stevens film, and I find it to be among the superior of these types of comedies.
Oscar Win Best Supporting actor Charles Coburn 5/5. Charles Coburn is great he is very funny and helps the movie move along as well as it does. He steals all of the scenes he is in and makes the scenes without him actually seem much slower since he plainly is the best thing about the film and the film is good too.
