I don't know about you but when I want to see a martial arts film, I'm more interested in the action than the story. This is one of those gems that happens to deliver both. Although it may sound hypocritical of me to say that I didn't care much about the flashback scenes, I did appreciate the story about the present, mainly the love between the two masters. I'm still amazed that I remember all the fight scenes because each of them has something different to offer. My favourite battle is definitely the one prior to the gliding among the trees scene. The audience can tell that sword-fighting or whatnot is not an easy task. It takes a toll on your spirit, your body, and your mind. Although the ending is somewhat anti-climactic, I think it was a necessary close to the film. This is the type of movie I'll watch again and again because it's nothing short of captivating.
