A smart comedy with a dramatic core. It's only right that Spielberg directed this film because it could've been a mess in somebody else's hands. Now that I've almost watched all of Leonardo DiCaprio's films, I'm more convinced that he deserves to win a Best Actor Oscar. He's not just a typical actor who happens to have modelesque looks. He knows how to get into a character and do it well. This movie is very amusing because it actually happened in real life (or rather, it's inspired by true events). It's funny how Leonardo DiCaprio's character started from a kid to a well-known, highly creative yet lovable criminal. My favourite scene has got to be the bit where he walks into an airport swarming with FBI agents while being surrounded by stewardesses. For me, that sums up the film because people like to see and judge the beauty of the outside rather than carefully looking at the core. "Catch Me If You Can" is one of Steven Spielberg's best movies.
