Ah, "Kick-Ass." It. Has. ARRIVED!! For many people, "Kick-Ass" ranked at about..oh...I don't know...um...#1 on their highest anticapated of 2010. For me, it was only about #10. I've never read the original comics by Mark Millar but I had some pretty high expectations going into this movie. The trailer made movie looked action packed and funny as hell, and the reviews were per-eeeee-ty good. So, I was hyped. I went in excited and came out...well...adequately satisfied. I thought it was definitly a good movie and its definitly a movie that could become a cult classic. However, at the same time, I was somewhat mixed.

However, with a second watch, it was MUCH better. This is easily my second favorite movie of the year so far. I had so much fun the second time. This is just one of those movies that you NEED to watch with a group of friends who are just ready for (what else) a kick ass time!!

"Kick-Ass" revolves around David Lezewski. David is just a regular nerdy teenager. He reads comics, jerks off, and has the two shittiest friends ever. He has about 38 friends on myspace and is always having dreams of being a superhero. One day, he finally gets the idea to be a superhero and becomes an internet sensation by going under the alias of Kick-Ass. He soon heads up against crime boss Frank DiMicco and even gets a hand from fellow masked heros Big Daddy, Hit Girl (my favorite character), and Red Mist (DiMicco's son).

The acting is great. Aaron Johnson is a fine talent and is equally engaging as both Dave and Kick-Ass. Nicholas Cage is HYSTERICAL as Big Daddy. 'Bout time he actually tried*gasp*acting?!?! The best actor(or actress, rather) was Chloe Moretz as Hit-Girl. Everytime she says one of her hilarious and very foul mouthed lines, I laughed like crazy. Mark Strong makes a great villain. He proved it in "Sherlocke Holmes" and he establishes it in this.

All in all, this movie is funny as hell, action packed, and may even become the "Boondock Saints" of this generation. I could definitly seeing it become a cult classic for years to come. "Kick-Ass" lives up to its title. It KICKS ASS!!!!
